The much-anticipated trailer of Taapsee Pannu's debut production venture, "Dhak Dhak," has been unveiled, and it promises to be a refreshing and entertaining cinematic experience.
The film brings forth a unique and never-before-seen story in Indian cinema, featuring a group of four diverse women who dare to embark on a bike journey to the world's highest motorable road, the Khardungla Pass. Contrary to being preachy, the trailer exudes entertainment and introduces the four central characters in a captivating manner.
Ratna Pathak Shah takes on the role of Biker Nani, a character who knows how to silence trolls in her own distinctive style. She shares her aspiration of riding to the 'pilgrimage of bikers,' Khardung La Pass, with Fatima Sana Shaikh, who portrays travel blogger Sky. As their journey unfolds and their bike encounters issues, they discover an unexpected bike expert in Dia Mirza's Uzma, a 'jugaadu mechanic' who leads a dual life as a housewife.
Completing the quartet is Sanjana Sanghi's Manjari, a first-time solo traveler. While they set out on their bike trip, differences arise among them, including disputes over expenses and one member going rogue, adding depth to the storyline.
"Dhak Dhak," produced by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Taapsee Pannu and Pranjal Khandhdiya's Outsider Films, along with BLM Pictures, is directed by Tarun Dudeja and co-written by Parijat Joshi and Tarun Dudeja.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 13, 2023. Recently, the first song from the film, "Re Banjara," was also released, capturing the adventurous spirit of the women as they embark on their remarkable journey.
